Tecna, a leading exhibition and retail design and build specialist, has announced a bold strategic vision through to 2028, setting out its ambition to become the UK’s most trusted and sustainably resilient partner in the exhibitions industry.

Under the leadership of CEO Simeon Wicks, the strategy focuses on elevating creativity, strengthening customer experience, and embedding sustainability and operational excellence at the core of the business, all under a renewed brand promise: “Push the Possible.”

The strategy comes at a pivotal moment for the exhibitions sector, as brands, agencies, and organisers face mounting pressure around budgets, delivery timelines, sustainability expectations, and accountability. “Our industry is at a crossroads,” said Simeon Wicks, CEO of Tecna. “Customers are demanding greater transparency, reliability, and innovation, and rightly so. Our response has been to build a strategy rooted in clarity: clarity of purpose, behaviour, and delivery.”

Reframing reliability as a competitive advantage

Tecna’s 2026–2028 plan positions trust as a differentiator in an industry often characterised by last-minute firefighting and behind-the-scenes heroics.

According to Wicks, Tecna’s ambition is to remove friction from the exhibiting and events process altogether.

“By 2028, Tecna should be the easiest part of exhibiting,” he said. “We want clients to breathe out when they hand a project to us, confident that it will be delivered flawlessly, and impressively, without drama.” This commitment is underpinned by disciplined operations, consistent delivery standards, and a culture that prioritises reliability before innovation.

“Push the Possible.”: a promise, not a slogan

The company’s rebrand centres on the phrase “Push the Possible.” which Tecna describes as both an internal mindset and an external commitment.

Rather than attempting to be everything to everyone, Tecna is doubling down on its strengths in modular design, tailored bespoke creativity, sustainable build systems, and long-term customer partnerships. “Push the possible isn’t about radical reinvention,” said Wicks. “It’s about asking better questions, how can this be more effective, more sustainable, easier for the client or more impressive and delightful to the audience? Over time, those incremental improvements become transformational.”

A measured, evidence-led approach to sustainability

Sustainability forms a central pillar of Tecna’s strategy, with a deliberate focus on transparency and measurable impact in a sector often criticised for greenwashing.

Tecna is the first design and build company in its space to offer sustainability reporting as standard, tracking material lifespans, reuse cycles, transport impact, and efficiencies driven by modular systems. The company is also the first stand builder to achieve Tier 5 ESSA accreditation, with four consecutive years of achievement to date.

“Sustainability starts with honesty,” said Wicks. “If we claim a sustainable benefit, we back it up with evidence. If there are limitations, we’re transparent about those too.” Tecna also sees education as a key responsibility, helping brands, show organisers and agencies navigate conflicting sustainability claims and make informed, responsible design choices.

Investing in people, culture and long-term leadership

Central to Tecna’s growth ambitions is a strong focus on culture and people. The company’s strategy emphasises incremental innovation, shared accountability, and a clear understanding of how every role contributes to customer experience, success and trust.

From designers and project managers to installation teams, Tecna’s leadership believes that sustainable growth is only possible when people feel aligned, valued, and proud of their impact. “There are no small jobs here,” Wicks explained. “Every action affects the experience our clients have. Trust has to start internally if we want to earn it externally.”

Looking ahead to 2028

By 2028, Tecna aims to be recognised for design that is both beautiful, impactful and functional. Sustainability that is real and measurable, operations that are dependable rather than dramatic, and partnerships built on trust rather than a transactional approach.
“If we can scale the business while delighting customers, developing our people, and leading the industry toward a more sustainable future,” said Wicks, “then we’ve done something truly meaningful.”
