At World Travel Market London, Royal Air Maroc wasn’t just looking for a stand – they were looking for an exhibition partner.

As Morocco’s national carrier and one of Africa’s leading airlines, Royal Air Maroc wanted to elevate their presence through deeper engagement and storytelling, while preserving the clean, calming and exclusive tone that defines their brand.

Tecna designed and delivered a custom environment that blended storytelling, hospitality and human interaction into a seamless brand journey. Every zone, interaction and journey through the space was designed to encourage conversation, support meaningful data capture and build long-term relationships, all without interrupting the premium experience.

The challenge

World Travel Market brings together leaders, ministers and decision-makers from across the travel and tourism industry. Competition for attention is intense – and overstimulation is everywhere.

Royal Air Maroc needed a stand that would:

  • Feel welcoming, calm and exclusive within a high-energy show
  • Tell a richer brand story beyond routes and destinations
  • Support scheduled meetings with key partners and clients
  • Encourage interaction without disrupting the premium feel
  • Enable data collection without disrupting flow or tone.

This required a partner who could think beyond design – and engineer engagement into the experience itself.

 

The insight

Engagement works best when it feels effortless.

In busy, senior-led environments like WTM, people don’t want to be sold to. They want to feel welcomed, respected and invited into conversation on their terms.

Rather than forcing interaction, Tecna designed the stand to gently invite it. The space offered multiple moments where visitors could opt in – through hospitality, conversation or digital touchpoints – ensuring data capture felt natural, valuable and aligned with the brand.

Tecna’s approach focused on designing a space that gently guided visitors through the brand – creating moments to pause, explore and connect, without friction or pressure.

The stand needed to work intuitively: clear sightlines, natural movement and multiple ways to engage depending on intent, time and interest.

The design experience

A brand journey, built into the architecture

From first sight to final interaction, the stand was designed to tell Royal Air Maroc’s story through detail, structure and atmosphere.

Key design features included:

  • A striking circular LED banner, suspended above the stand, creating long-distance recognition
  • Bespoke scale model Royal Air Maroc aircrafts, suspended beneath the banner to reinforce aviation heritage and global reach
  • Cut-out flooring that subtly guided visitors through the space, creating a sense of journey
  • Inset decorative arrows and 3D brand elements woven into the structure, reflecting Royal Air Maroc’s visual language
  • Custom visual architecture that balanced openness with defined zones

The overall feel remained clean, calming and premium – a destination within the noise of the show.

Engagement, designed for real interaction

  • Hospitality that opens conversations

    At the heart of the stand sat a hospitality area with integrated storage and a coffee machine, creating an informal but refined setting for meaningful discussions.

    Decorative shelving displayed crockery and glassware used in Royal Air Maroc’s business class cabins – a subtle but powerful detail that translated onboard experience into physical space.

    Furnishings, lighting and planting, all provided by Tecna, softened the environment and encouraged visitors to stay longer.

  • Structured meetings, elevated

    Dedicated conference and meeting areas supported pre-booked meetings with key partners.

    Feature lighting and illuminated graphics elevated these spaces without isolating them, maintaining openness while providing privacy and focus.

    A private meeting room allowed deeper conversations to take place away from the main flow – reinforcing Royal Air Maroc’s commitment to relationship-building.

  • Interactive touchpoints that invite participation

    Engagement was layered throughout the stand:

    • A branded welcome desk with a uniformed brand ambassador greeting visitors on arrival
    • A touchscreen totem inviting guests to enter a competition, supported by another ambassador encouraging participation
    • A merch and giveaway station positioned naturally alongside the interactive zone
    • Open chat and meeting areas distributed across the stand for spontaneous conversations

    Rather than one dominant interaction, the stand offered multiple entry points – allowing visitors to engage in a way that felt comfortable and relevant.
