Tecna has appointed Paul Coghlan as Finance Director, adding a Chartered Accountant with more than a decade of finance experience to our senior leadership team.

Paul’s arrival marks the next step in the growth of our Farnborough-based exhibition stand design and build business, which helps brands stand out at shows and events around the world.

Paul joins Tecna from Vivobarefoot, where he was FP&A Manager. There, he played a central role in scaling the business from £20m to nearly £100m in revenue and helped secure more than £25m in Series A funding.

Before Vivo, Paul trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with RSM UK. He delivered more than 100 audit engagements across sectors including fintech, construction and private equity.

Paul’s role at Tecna

Paul now leads Tecna’s entire finance function, from day-to-day operations through to long-term financial strategy. He works closely with our leadership team to:

  • Drive business performance
  • Strengthen financial controls
  • Build scalable systems to support our continued growth

For our clients, that means a partner with strong financial foundations as we take on larger projects and new markets.

What our leadership team said

“Paul joins us at an exciting time,” said Simeon Wicks, CEO. “We’ve built real momentum over the past few years after our re-brand, and as we push into our next phase of expansion, having a Finance Director with Paul’s blend of strategic insight and hands-on rigour is exactly what the business needs.

His track record of scaling finance functions alongside fast-growing companies speaks for itself, and I’m confident he’ll be a huge asset to our leadership team.”

James Longley, Managing Director, added: “What stood out to me about Paul was his ability to operate at both ends of the spectrum; comfortable shaping strategy in the boardroom, but just as happy rolling up his sleeves to get into the detail.

Our whole business works on this ethic and positive attitude. That’s precisely the balance we need as we scale. He’ll be a brilliant partner to me and the rest of the senior leadership team as we continue to grow the business responsibly and ambitiously.”

George Green, Sales Director, commented: “From a sales perspective, having a commercially minded finance leader in the room changes the conversation. Paul’s experience translating numbers into real business insight will help us make smarter, faster decisions as we win opportunities and expand into new markets. It’s a real statement of intent from Tecna”.

In Paul’s words

I’m delighted to be joining Tecna at such a pivotal moment in its growth story. I’ve always believed finance should be a strategic partner to the business, not just a reporting function, and that philosophy feels like a natural fit here.

I’m looking forward to working closely with Simeon, James, George and the wider team to build a finance function that matches the ambition of the business.

Building our team for the next phase of growth

Paul’s appointment is part of our ongoing investment in Tecna’s leadership as we scale our operations and pursue new opportunities across the global exhibition and events industry.
